and Delivered

Yep, we picked up the papers today so Dogpound South is ours now. We have enjoyed the last week here on the property and Mike and Kathy’s hospitality but it is nice to be able to call it our own now.

A couple of days ago we ran up to Surprise to meet some old friends from another life. It is a far piece up there from our place here in the sun but the supper and great conversation we shared made the long journey worthwhile. We will be looking forward to next time Gary and Dalyce.

As for the rest of the week it has been spent around our new place burning tumbleweeds and killing scorpions.

That is right Brenda has come upon a few of those little critters this week so we are giving our local scorpion patrol below a little pep talk and trying to get them to increase the frequencies of their meals.

Now we don`t have a fancy tire rig like Al over there with the Bayfield Bunch to clear our tumbleweeds but someone had already piled them into big piles, to big to burn, so all I had to do was rip them apart and light `em up and keep them from getting away and burning up the neighbourhood. Kept my hot dogs close just in case anyone needed to see my burning permit….lol.

I have had a lot of questions asking for photo`s, well the trailer is in great shape, clean, and well cared for but other than a small shed there are no other improvements on the place unless you count the 8 trees that are growing around the yard. We are hoping that we can keep those trees alive. It is 3.3 acres so lots of room to bring a few horses down next winter and certainly enough room to have a few of our RV`ìng friends pull in and set a spell. By next year we will probably be able to offer a plug-in bigger than the 15 AMPs we have for company right now.

Starting next week we are going to get going on a fence around the perimeter and then we will need to haul some rock in to spread around to hopefully keep the dust down a little before Brenda goes off the deep end.

  1. Brenda really needs to chill out. She has a piece of Heaven up north and another down south...Maybe we can come out and visit someday.

  2. Nice to have that final piece in place for sure. Sounds like you're both going to be busy for a bit now!

  3. Yep, gravel might be a good idea before Brenda explodes!

  4. Wow, didn't realize there was enough land there to bring some horses on down. Will be interesting to read your blog about rides in your new area and things you find while on horseback.

  5. You take your walks that seem to cover some serious mileage, so I imagine with horses, you'd better bring a GPS so you can find your way home. ;c)

  6. Sounds like you're getting settled that is for sure... We haven't met but sure will drop by to see you when we get back out in that area... Have fun and watch out for those scorpions... YIKES!
    Have fun & travel safe

  7. Okay, we know who's hosting our girls mani/pedi and tattoo party next winter! WHOO-HOO!! ;-)

  8. Oh, congrats and how exciting! We hope to find that "just right" piece of earth someday ourselves....but for now we just continue to roam....

  9. Great! The purchase is now complete....and you now get to work to have it look the way you envision the place to be. Sounds good all around. Also sounds like you could be eating a lot of hot dogs. Keep them home fires burning. Congratulations!!!

  10. Well congrats to you very exciting!! I trust you are keeping that gorgeous motorhome....definitely heaven in both places now....take care
